Student Art Classes

The Desert Art Center is pleased to provide art classes for Palm Springs Unified School district middle school students to supplement art education to those schools where the district has no art resources.  According to Louisa Castrodale, PSUSD Visual and Performing Arts Specialist, this is the first time middle school grades have been exposed to in depth Art classes in a studio situation as art is no longer taught in most of the district's middle schools.

The Middle School Art Project is currently teaching 6th through 8th grades for the series of four class in November/ December and January/February. The tuition for the classes is provided free to motivated students from a grant through the Anderson Children's Fund.

The dates for the first session will be Saturdays, Nov. 12, 19, Dec. 3, 10, 2017. The dates for the second session Saturdays, Jan. 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11, 2017.
